At minimum, compare the facilities on the following criteria:

Does the facility have an up-to-date license?
Is it clean?
What are the hours the center is open?
Is there a limit on the number of hours your child can attend during the hours of operation?
Is there enough space for the children to play safely?
Is there enough furniture and play equipment for all of the children?
Is all equipment in good repair and age appropriate?
Are dangerous materials and solutions safely out of reach?
Is there a safety monitoring system in place?
Does the director observe the rooms on a regular basis?
Is there an adequate fire safety system in place including alarms, sprinklers, and alternate exits?
Is there adequate heating, cooling, lighting and ventilation in place?
Are the meals and snacks provided? If so are they nutritious, age appropriate, and served on time?
Are the physical, emotional and intellectual needs of the children met by the staff?
Are the children able to spend time with their friends and alone throughout the day?
Is there time spent outdoors when weather permits?
Is the staff exposed to continuing education so they can grow professionally.
Are there regular communications between parents, children, staff and directors?
What are the centers’ philosophies on discipline and do they correleate with your own?
Spend time with your child at the center to become comfortable with the experience your child will have.

Step Four

Check with the appropriate agency that monitors childcare providers in your area to be sure the centers you are considering are performing at a level acceptable to you.

Step Five

Share your findings with other parents considering the same childcare centers. Browse to the specific childcare center pages at ChildCareAvenue.com and write a review.

Fundraiser Ideas for Moon Bounce

Friday, June 3rd, 2011

Have you recently been put in charge of your company, school, organization or club’s next fundraiser, but you just can’t come up with a clever idea? Well look no further. KidFlatables has the answer; book a moon bounce.

Before you go laughing at the thought of a moon bounce as a serious fundraiser, checkout these ideas from eHow.com.

Moon bounces commonly appear at amusement parks, carnivals and fairs, but it is also possible for individuals or organizations to rent one of these inflatable fun houses for any event. That is where KidFlatables comes in. You rent the moon bounce from us and then you can turn around and throw the fundraiser to end all fundraisers.

So break away from the boring chocolate sales or raffles and take a look at some of these ideas:

Sell Bounce Time

One of the easiest ways to raise funds with a moon bounce is to rent the structure and sell playtime. All you have to do is set up the structure and have a few attendants sell tickets and monitor play activity. To avoid injury, only allow children to use the moon bounce or sell tickets for time slots that you designate for certain age groups. This type of fundraiser can supplement activities like fun fairs and festivals. If your community has a play center business with a moon bounce, you could reserve the facility for an evening and arrange it with the owners to earn a percentage of the profit for that night.

Moon Bounce Marathon

A moon bounce marathon could raise money for your organization. Participants agree to bounce for a certain period of time designated by the group, usually a few hours. Participants ask family and community members to sponsor them in the marathon by making a pledge. The pledge can be for a flat amount or a certain amount for each hour that a participant bounces. There are weight limits for moon bounces, usually about 600 lbs., so you will be limited in the number of participants or have to rent numerous structures to accommodate all your participants. Bouncing is excellent physical activity, but you may wish to work in teams so that participants can get a break from bouncing.

Balls in a Basket

This fundraiser idea is a fun way for kids to get adults physically involved in a moon bounce fundraiser. Find community members or parents willing to pay an undetermined amount of money to your cause. First, you will have to be sure that adult and children who participate fall within the weight limit of your moon bounce. Each adult participant will stand in the center of the moon bounce with a basket full of about 20 soft foam balls. Each ball has a dollar amount from $1.00 to $10.00 written on the side with permanent markers. Children will bounce around the house to try to get the adult to spill balls out of the basket. You should set a time limit of about one minute. When the minute is up, you gather the balls that have fallen out of the basket and add up the dollar amounts. This is the amount that each adult must pay in the fundraiser.

Kidflaftables also offers face painting, cheek art, balloon twisting and games and prizes for the kids. Book your rental today! If you have any questions, contact Kidflatables by calling 410-205-KIDS.

KIDflatables launches weekday children’s exercise campaign in Maryland

KIDflatables is ramping up efforts to get students and children to be more physically active.

KIDflatables is ramping up efforts to get students and children to be more physically active.

KIDflatables is ramping up efforts to get students and children to be more physically active.

More than half of U.S. adults do not meet recommended levels of moderate physical activity, and one-fourth engage in no leisure time physical activity at all. This will eventually lead to inactivity in our kids.
A pattern of inactivity, also known as sedentism, begins early in life, and with TV and Video Game Consoles consuming our kids lives, promoting physical activity among children is imperative.

To stay healthy, kids need to engage in exercise for at least 60 minutes per day. Benefits are stronger muscles and bones, leaner bodies, decreased risk of type 2 diabetes and lower blood pressure and
cholesterol levels.

Encourage your child to invite friends to participate in physical activities.  Consider renting a moonbounce this summer for your child and his friends. The more fun you make the activity for everyone,
the greater the chances your child will continue to exercise in the future. We are offering 20% discounts on all Moon bounces for weekday rentals as KIDflatables is committed to promoting exercise in our kids!

Mention our weekday exercise promotion and receive this discount that includes full day rental, delivery, set up and break down to Baltimore and surrounding areas. See web site for more service area and more details.
